Okay my opinion here: I feel like Disney is making their new POC characters, not very POC. (See upcoming princess Moana) I understand that not all POC look the same and that their features vary, but I think the typical ‘white’ look is used too often: small nose small lips, small facial structure, etc. I don’t have a problem with those facial features, I just think others should get more representation. Ik growing up, myself and other POC have insecurities about our lips, teeth, hair, eyes and nose. If young girls grew up seeing these qualities in princesses, they wouldn’t think they were ugly. I know Disney isnt trying to not represent all facial structures, but I really wish they’d make a better effort to do so. Example being Pocahontas, she was beautiful and her face wasnt typical as compared to the other princesses at the time.
